All About Rebecca Russell

“Rebecca is an outstanding yoga instructor. She provides me with a whole new level of understanding of yoga.” Kim

Here's more about Rebecca in her own words...
-
I’m a learning junkie. Teaching gives me an outlet for all my exploration. I get my yoga fix by attending classes, participating in workshops, and reading whatever I can get my hands on to keep fresh on asana, philosophy and inspiration.
-
I enjoy talking to people, asking questions and learning all about how people live their lives in this big, fascinating world. With my students, I ask questions to be able to help them figure out how to address what’s going on in their bodies. Another way I put this curiosity to good use is by writing articles about yoga (and other topics) and teaching a class at DePaul University in successful interviewing.
-
My undergraduate degree is in English Literature, which I contend is a great way to learn about the world (even if the worlds are pretend). Today, I’m always on the lookout for inspiring and provocative writings to share with my classes.
-
When I’m teaching, I think of myself as a facilitator. I teach with a focus on what my students are experiencing, then create a way for students to find their own selves through their yoga practice. I help students explore a new way of doing a pose, connect with their breath and leave class feeling more empowered to greet their lives.
